The lock is the tool
Every use begins by opening the blade until the safety lock seats, and every use ends by folding it shut. Trust the lock, but don’t abuse the pivot: a folding joint is not built for the heavy prying leverage a solid full-tang 5-in-1 shrugs off — lever a stuck lid or a nailhead with a rigid tool, not this one. Stainless care: none, essentially — wipe it clean; the metal was chosen so you never run the carbon-steel dry-and-oil ritual. Blade travel: keep the pivot clean of dried compound so the fold stays smooth and the lock seats fully; a paint-gummed hinge is a lock that doesn’t quite catch.
