Stock at the point of use
A hundred blades do the most good split to where the cutting happens — a handful at each cut station or in each knife’s onboard store — not locked in one drawer across the building. Rotate and keep dry. Bare blade steel corrodes; keep the box closed and dry, and a rusted or pitted blade is scrap regardless of how many are left. Enforce change-at-first-drag with the supply. The whole point of buying in bulk is to make a fresh blade cheaper than a forced cut — a well-stocked box is a safety control, because the excuse “we’re out of blades” is how crews end up sawing with dull edges. Capture spent blades in a dedicated sharps container; a hundred-blade throughput means a hundred spent edges, and loose ones in the trash are a laceration waiting to happen.
