About IPEX Siding (IPEX Profile)

Size
The IPEX profile measures 13/16″ × 5-1/4″ (net). Available lengths: 8′, 10′, 12′, 14′, 16′, 18′, 20′.
Material
Natural Ipe hardwood with no added chemicals or preservatives. Each board features natural colour variation and grain character.
Performance
Ipe is recognized for exceptional durability and strength, with natural resistance to moisture, insects, and decay. It performs well in demanding climates and is a long-term alternative to many man-made cladding materials.
Maintenance
Oil the exposed face to enhance the natural colour, or leave it untreated to weather into a silver-grey patina. If oiled, expect periodic refresh depending on UV exposure.
Fastening System (Recommended)
- Hidden fasteners: Stainless steel invisible/hidden siding fasteners compatible with the IPEX profile
- Screws for hidden fasteners: 1-1/2″ stainless steel screws (exterior-grade)
- When face-fastening is required: Pro Plug® System for hardwoods with 8 × 2-1/2″ 305 stainless steel screws (kit coverage varies by pack size)
Installation Notes (Best Practice)
Allow siding to acclimate before installation to reduce abnormal movement. Use minimum 1″ thick furring strips (max span 16″ o.c.). Apply a wood sealer or oil to the backside to help reduce cupping/warping and premature aging. Seal all end cuts to reduce checking and uneven moisture loss. Avoid exposed 45° corner mitres; use a proper finishing corner. For best results, hire an experienced hardwood siding installer and request similar project references.
