✕CHOOSE A DIFFERENT TOOL WHEN
- A whole room, a season of patches, or a dust-free-sander owner’s rotation — that is the 10-pack (09944); two sheets will run out mid-wall.
- Power field sanding — the 9″ net disc (09919) on a radial sander does flat area; this rectangle is a hand tool.
- Curved or contoured work, where the flat sheet chords over the shape — that is the 5″ sponge disc.
- And, like every 120, it is not a finish grit and not a paint-film grit: it is the coarse start, never the last word.

How the pros run it

The 120-grit rules are identical to the 10-pack’s and are not re-derived here
tension the sheet, sand at the tool’s weight, read the work under raking light, never finish at 120, and wash the mesh before it fully loads rather than throwing it away. What the two-sheet buyer should add is triage: with only two sheets in hand, spend them where 120 is genuinely the right grit (removing height, knocking down a ridge) and do not burn one chasing a smoothness that a finer grit should own. A net sheet washes and returns, so a single 120 sheet can carry a lone repair from knockdown through several rinses — plan the job around one working sheet and keep the second in reserve.
