thin coats, light pressure, don’t overwork the setting enamel, sand lightly between coats, pre-dampen for waterborne, load full and quiet — with one pack-specific rule that is the whole point of buying four: save the freshest cover for the last coat. Rotate covers by stage, not by fatigue; the primer cover stays the primer cover. At day’s end wash the covers you’re keeping to clear (paint left at the fiber base stiffens the nap), stand them on end to dry, and let the four-pack absorb the retirement of any cover that ran solvent or matted flat — it’s priced to.
