Maibec — Cove Siding
Cove siding is manufactured from kiln-dried SPF (spruce–fir) and factory-coated on all six sides in a controlled environment for maximum stain absorption and retention. This provides increased protection from sun and weather. For exterior use only.

Fastening System (Regular)
- Use Maibec hot-dipped zinc galvanized ring shank nails with textured head, corrosion resistant and factory-stained to match. (Order nails at the same time as the siding.)
- A plastic hammer end cap is provided to protect the stain on nail heads.
- Estimated quantities:
- Simple nailing: 15 lbs of nails per 1,000 sq. ft.
- Double nailing: 6″ — 30 lbs per 1,000 sq. ft.
- Double nailing: 8″ — 20 lbs per 1,000 sq. ft.

Wall Preparation (Key Requirements)
- Install over a standard wall with studs up to 16″ on-centre
- Sheathing: OSB or plywood
- Weather barrier: approved water-resistive barrier
- Final step: install vertical furring strips into studs (per code and Maibec requirements) to create a continuous air gap, especially when used with ventilation and drainage accessories.
Complementary Accessories
- Ventilation & drainage accessories: ventilated strips with a perforated 50% open pattern to support airflow/drainage and help prevent rodents and certain insects from entering behind the wall.
- Metal corners: inside and outside corners available in 10′ lengths.
