Is this the right tool for your job?

✓CHOOSE THIS WHEN

  • The documented job is “Clean Paint Roller Covers with the Half-Round Cut-Out”.
  • Blade: 3″ stiff stainless steel scraper blade for tough scraping jobs.
  • Half-round cut-out for cleaning paint rollers.
  • Die cast metal HammerHead® for setting drywall nails.

✕CHOOSE A DIFFERENT TOOL WHEN

  • Tight interior corners and detail — 3″ is too wide; that’s the 2-1/2″ 6-in-1’s edge.
  • Fine feathering — no stiff blade feathers.
  • Broad heavy stripping of a whole failed wall — a dedicated pull-scraper still wins; the multi-tool is the versatile scout, not the excavator.
  • Spark-controlled environments — stainless sparks; that’s the brass tool.
  • And it’s honestly more tool than a plain interior touch-up needs — if there are no railings to scrape and no brads to pull, the 06986 does the interior job at 2-1/2″ for less.

How the pros run it

01

Two edges, two jobs — keep them straight

The main straight edge scrapes flats; the concave edge scrapes curves; don’t try to true a rounded profile with the flat edge or a flat wall with the curved one. Stainless care is a wipe — no oil ritual; that’s the metal’s whole argument for a wash-bucket tool. The HammerHead strikes so the blade doesn’t — never chisel with the spine. The nail puller is a lever — hook, roll, lift; don’t hammer it. Grip: the overmold carries the widest, heaviest-duty stainless tool comfortably — choke up for scrape control on profiles, slide back for HammerHead and puller leverage.
