How the pros run it

Keep it low and let it slice
The single most common error with a square point on cloth and thin sheet is holding the blade too steep, which makes the edge push the material ahead of the corner instead of cutting it. Lay the blade down; slice, don’t chop.

Use the give
The .065″ gauge has a little flex — enough to track a gentle curve and to get under a ply. Work with that flex on contours and lifts; if you need the blade to ignore the material and hold a dead-straight heavy line, that is the .083″ 60450’s job, not this one.

Tension the material
Cloth, webbing, and batting cut clean only under tension; slack material folds around the edge. Stretch or clamp the work before the stroke.

Maintain the edge on a stone
This is high-carbon cutlery steel and a maintained knife — hone it keen, strop it, and it will slice cloth for years; let it dull and it will start to drag and pull weave. Wipe dry after any damp work; carbon steel rusts where stainless would shrug.
