✕CHOOSE A DIFFERENT TOOL WHEN
- Hairline cracks and nail holes — that is filler and mesh-tape work, not a rigid plate; a plate over a crack is overkill that telegraphs its own edges.
- Holes larger than about 6″ across — past the 8×8’s bond ceiling you are cutting in new board, full stop.
